Week 9 Statement

3D Fusion Laser Cut File

Laser Cut Files

Creating the laser cut file.  My first model proved simple as I followed along with the tutorial. I created another fusion model of one of my later handmade models that were more complex proved difficult to be more difficult as components were joined and later separated in order to create the layout.  I additionally opted to remove the bay window panels for the laser cutting as I would have wished for a different material to be used in the construction.

Week 8 Rendering Further

Applying Rendering

Applying the skills from the rendering project, I experimented with one of my fusion models of my handmade models in order to show a possibly more realistic texture to my model. Whilst the photoshop enable the vision of the interior of the space to come to life, I was particularly interested in the appearance of the glass and variations of glass finishes as well the exterior finishes

Week 8 Fusion Rendering

Rendering in Fusion

I started this exercise by applying warm shadows and a pink-tinted gold finish to the fusion file from the previous week.

Week 7 Fusion

Fusion File for Initials

I followed along with the tutorial to create a shell structure made with stylised initials of my name.  I've shown this through the section tool.  Thus below you can see a cursive E, K and a C for Emily Kate Cox.

Whilst creating this structure I did encounter a number of errors when creating the shell.  It took numerous attempts of rearranging the letters to create a shell of desired thickness. Some of the errors are screenshotted below.

Week 8 Materiality

Material Overlays

Using photoshop to overlay finishes and materials within my spaces helped the space come alive.  It allowed for colour schemes and moods for the space to develop.  I aimed for the space to be overall calm - allowing for sleep as well as productivity within bright spaces.

Week 7 Scale Figurines

Scale Figures within Models

Within my photos, I have drawn scale figures over top to convey not only the scale of the space in relation to people but also how I wish for the space to be experienced.
